Is The Osterizer Blender An Antique

SW Dash 8

The Dash 8 is a twin-engine airliner turboprop medium range, manufactured in Canada since 1980. The aircraft was designed and built by de Havilland Canada. Boeing subsequently took over the company, until 1992, the firm Bombardier Aerospace purchased the plants that were once de Havilland Canada. Aircraft production continues today, having developed different versions of that total to date were made more than 1,000 copies. The Republic of Argentina had a formal visit Sep93 builder Bombardier, when the aircraft C-CDKL, in this case version DHC-8-300, made an extensive promotional tour in the region.
different operators in South America was the model in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and the Canadian mining firm Barrick in Chile.
The company Southern Winds (SW) established a hub at the airport in the city of Cordoba in 1996 to meet its objective of joining major cities without passing through Buenos Aires, initially using aircraft Canadair CRJ-200, which soon was joined by Dash 8 turboprop aircraft with capacity for 37 people. The company was regent by 92 percent by Juan Maggio, and the remainder being divided between two other partners, Miguel Cartasso and Oscar Quiroga, and tried to optimize the internal links with turbo propeller aircraft, who could not find another destination that was not Buenos Aires. This event was held in Argentina from the 70's, brother's Avro 748 Aerolineas Argentinas had been decommissioned. Since that time there were only isolated attempts as Aerochaco and almost contemporary of SW: Inter Austral.
For four years the company was able to operate Southern Winds versatile de Havilland Canada DHC-8. The Dash 8 came from the commercial aviation market American Capital Bombardier's hands. The northern hemisphere feeder system operated for two decades. Coincidentally, the DHC-8 was a model specially designed to capture that market. And by the end of the millennium that market and demanded a replacement of turboprop aircraft to modern jets from Bombardier and Embraer itself.
The first DHC-8 (LV-YTA/YTC) reached the end of the first half of 1998. Both aircraft came into service on 06Jul98, and before delivery to Argentina, the aircraft received intense ovehaul in Abbotfordt Airport in British Columbia, where he also received painting. The scheme had the aircraft was similar to that used to house construction, and unlike the CRJ-200, the twin-engine turboprop carrying these titles under the windows. blue ventral decreasing because of these.
From Mar98, Aerolineas Argentinas began renting some SW ships, in order to cover their low-density routes, becoming SW in feeder from Córdoba. From this agreement on the back of the Dash could see the words "Connection Aerolineas Argentinas." Under the agreement, SW destinations regularly provided from Cordoba to Mendoza, Rosario, Tucuman, Salta, Neuquén, Bariloche, Mar del Plata, and Rio Cuarto. Soon would add San Juan, La Rioja, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, Jujuy and San Luis. While from Rosario, is flying to Mendoza, Tucumán and Salta. By then the company grew and had a staff of 160 employees, achieving figures of 15,000 passengers per month. The first two units Dash 8 arrived to Argentina in Jun98, while Ago98 arrived, the third (LV-ZGB).
SW Nov98 announced after the arrival of the fourth copy (LV-ZLZ), which would add to its fleet, two Dash 8 before the end of this year, totaling 6 aircraft of this type. Like any ad, deliveries were delayed, and the next plane arrived late Ene99 (LV-ZOD), number plate decks. The aircraft began flying regularly in MAR99, when all was optimism. SW operated at 73% capacity, flying to 10 cities in Córdoba, after check in 1998 28 million pesos. Maggio's next step was said to conquer the Mercosur.
In Abr99 took place in Morón ASSA sample 99. On that occasion the company's recent acquisition involved exposing even wearing temporary registration: LV-PID. The unit was stationed at static display platform and then be reidentified as LV-ZPM.
Since the arrival of the turboprop, all were baptized as was traditional in SW fleet. In this way the aircraft received the following names: LV-YTA " Paul Diamond" (a tribute to a former pilot SW) - LV-YTC "Rosario " - LV-ZGB " San Juan " - LV -ZLZ "San Rafael " - LV-ZOD " Tucumán " - LV-ZPM " Viedma.
In Argentina conveyor May99 added new destinations from Buenos Aires. They were Santa Fe, Catamarca and La Rioja, with several weekly. You announced that from 01Jun99 offer two flights daily nonstop between Buenos Aires to Santa Rosa, La Pampa, DHC-8 aircraft.
SW Mar2000 confirmed in the operation of the route Cordoba - Mar del Plata, beyond the summer.
Of course that in hard work as they developed these planes in a short time, the incidents were not unrelated: The 14Set2000 a Dash 8, SW, carrying out flight bound for Rosario A46112, held an emergency landing at Aeroparque, having suffered a malfunction in one of its engines. The move was not of risk for any of the 32 passengers.
In the development of the Dash 2000/2001 summer seasons were used in the most popular destinations on the Atlantic coast resorts A46297 Mar del Plata flight and fly to Villa Gesell A44153. In fact, the company reported on the formation of two daily flights to Buenos Aires route-Mar del Plata, Cordoba, Mar del Plata and Rosario, Mar del Plata, and three times a day Villa Gesell, Buenos Aires.
Throughout the 2002 SW Merlo began operations. The company even made 3 flights with Dash 8. A46244 flight was conducted as an extension the flight to Rio Cuarto.
However, since 2002 the company SW was virtually annihilated by the fierce devaluation of Argentina's economy. Thus the company reconverted its fleet with larger aircraft, much older, but affordable compared to leasing. The latest DHC-8 were highlighted in Cordoba and flew from there to destinations in the Northwest. In this way were being programmed as the last flights, the aircraft would be returned to the tenant. The first to leave the flight line was the LV-ZOD on 28Mar2002, remaining pending their return, which only would be made the 08Ago2002. The 14Jun2002, left the service, the LV-ZPM, being the first to leave the country on 17Jul2002. Followed by the LV-YTA, who made the last flight on 17Jul2002, 28Jul2002 being returned. In Ago98, casualties would occur LV-ZLZ, "06Ago-and the LV-ZGB-11Ago", returning to Canada on 15Ago2002 and 20Ago2002 respectively. The last device that flew SW was the LV-YTC, decommissioned and returned 01Sep2002 thirteen days later.
After being returned to Bombardier, the aircraft were stored pending being returned to the commercial aviation market. The 30Jul2003, the DHC-8 LV-YTA &; YTC were observed stored Airport in North Bay, Ontario Canada. Both units looked SW colors and titles. The aircraft found after being stored destination in Greece, Hawaii and Bangladesh. Some of them received modifications after storage.
